Hay Season 2023 was a quick one. The dryness of the spring left our fields dry, barren and sparse, only the deep rooted Alfalfa had any growth to it.  We did manage to get some solid 80-90% alfalfa small square bales made & sold in the field. 
 
We greatly appreciate those who were able to come pick up with such short notice.  Thank you for bringing great helpers to collect the few bales that we had for you - in the extreme heat.
 
Our yield was only 10% of what we baled last year - which unfortunately left so many of you without hay from us.  We apologize and hope next year will provide more hay for everyone.  
 
If you are on Facebook please look for the “Alberta Hay Page” group and join, so you can stay abreast on what hay is available & where.  There is a great shortage of hay all over Alberta this year, so you will need to be quick to get it before the next person does.
 
Please do not send an etransfer deposit to anyone before picking up or having the hay delivered.  Be aware of whom you are dealing with as scammers are out there to take your money and you will not see any hay.  Go see the hay, pick it up right away, or arrange transportation for those exact bales to get to your home & arrange payment with the Hay Producer face to face.  Source some hay pellets or hay cubes to feed your horses, as we are all going to have to look for other options this year with the lack of hay available.
